Yes. Docker makes it easy to run Nextcloud, Gitea, and other tools side by side on a single VPS. A 4 GB plan handles 2-3 apps comfortably, 8 GB for more.

With Docker, updating is one command: docker compose pull && docker compose up -d. Most apps also show update notifications in their admin panel.

You control your backup strategy. Use Docker volumes for persistent data and set up automated snapshots or rsync to a second server.

Debian 12 or Ubuntu 24.04. Both have excellent Docker support and long-term security updates.
